TripleW has joined with awesome partners to form the WASTE2FUNC consortium, a Horizon 2020 program, to produce lactic acid (a FUNCtional ingredient) from WASTE, for consumer products.
As a member of the consortium, the company has been awarded a 2.2M Euro grant from the European Union, out of a total 6.7M Euro awarded to the group.
The grant is provided as part of the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU), a public-private partnership between the EU and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) aiming to strengthen and structure the bio-based industries sector in Europe.
The project will demonstrate the integration of the WASTE2FUNC biomass supply chain with new value chains based on the cost- and eco-efficient conversion of the waste biomass into market-ready functional molecules for home and personal care applications.
